Recent changes to Medicare have seen TeleHealth funding for remote GP consults restricted to patients that have had a face-to-face service with a GP in the last 12 months.
The announcement highlighted that from 20th July, TeleHealth GP providers would be required to have had a continuous relationship with a patient in order for the TeleHealth Service to be eligible for a Medicare rebate.
This has resulted in INS LifeGuard looking to revamp its existing offering right now. Claude Rafin, Managing Director of The INS Group, noted, “Whilst we are more than happy to continue to provide the service, we are looking for input to how best to continue. We’d like to talk to village operators interested in a special GP and/or psychology TeleHealth Service for their residents, and any community care managers who think it might be of benefit or as an NDIS Provider, NDIS clients this can assist.”
